| On the impetuous propelling force of the maxi rackets |
Beach tennis is very popular on our beaches, propelled by the traditional game of the “maxi rackets”. Today exists a federation, an Italian championship, matches in many bathing establishments and challenges among groups of bathers.
So, make way for maxi rackets and depressurized ,“deflated” tennis ball, on a field and with a net very similar to those to play volley ball, “for a flying play”.
If the ball bounces, you lose the point and you cannot touch it more than a time: the ball has to be sent immediately on the other side of the net. Dimensions of the field: 18*4,5 metres (single) - 18*9 (double) – Height of the net: 1,65 mt- How to play: 1 against 1 (single) – 2 against 2 (double) with maxi rackets made of wood and deflated balls – Rules: the ball has never to touch the ground, it is a flying game, with the succession of the services as during tennis game. Variant: alternatively the players kick the ball for 5 times, without change of services and the score reaches 15 points. In the first case, like in the tennis (it finishes after the winning of the first set, only in few cases of the third one). In the second case it is a simple match until 15 points, without “change of kick”.
